Slow-preneurship is the best way to be an entrepreneur, in my opinion 😎.
Why?
Because it’s the one that best allows you to take care of your health 💚.
Having a caring business 🥰 that allows me to thrive through my life’s mission, make a positive impact in the world 🙏, without burning out and while enjoying life.
This is everything I aspire to, and it’s what I’m currently achieving ✨.
What is slow-preneurship? Or rather, what it IS NOT?
Here are 6 misconceptions about slow-preneurship:
1- Slow-preneurship Means Working Less
That’s not entirely true: a slow-preneur isn’t necessarily someone who works less, but rather someone who adopts a more thoughtful and intentional approach to their work, which makes them more efficient.
As a slow-preneur, you even learn to be efficient, using your time wisely to achieve your goals.
So yes, when you’re more efficient, you can ultimately afford to work fewer hours, but that doesn’t mean you achieve less in terms of results.
The quality of our work remains the same, or often even better!
2- a Slow-Preneur is not Disciplined
“Oh, come on, if you respect your own rhythm, that means you don’t set an alarm in the morning…”
Uh… no!
Not all slow-preneurs adopt the same rhythm, and that’s precisely the magic: anyone can become a slow-preneur!
Personally, with my two children, I couldn’t not set an alarm in the morning.
Slow-preneurship is totally compatible with being a mom, and I would even say that all mompreneurs should look into it.
3- Slow-preneurship Means Working Whenever You Feel like It
Again, that’s not entirely true.
When you’re a slow-preneur, you’re more in the present moment, you respect your rhythm, and you listen to your body and your needs.
Yes, sometimes you’ll decide to slow down or take longer breaks so you don’t burn out.
That doesn’t necessarily mean you work only when you feel like it.
To succeed as an entrepreneur, you can be in business part-time, but not with wasted time 😉.
4- You Can’t be a Slow-Preneur and Ambitious
That’s so wrong!
Ambition has nothing to do with it.
You can embark on entrepreneurship on a different path, one that’s healthier and more peaceful, more respectful of your health, your well-being, and the values you want to pass on to your children.
It might take longer to achieve your results, but if you ultimately gain more in the long term, isn’t that better?
Do you want to be a turtle that eventually wins, or a hare that gets exhausted and gives up halfway?
Entrepreneurship is not a sprint, but a marathon…
5- Slow-preneurship is a Closed Concept
On the contrary! It’s not a mindset you must adopt, nor a mold you have to fit into.
In fact, personally, I’ve never managed to fit into any mold.
I am unique, and I will NEVER try to “fit in” with anything or anyone.
There are almost as many kinds of slow-preneurship as there are slow-preneurs… okay, I’m exaggerating, but that’s pretty much it.
We all take the time to live, to slow down, to become aware of our energy.
We reconnect with ourselves, with others, with nature… then we adapt our vision and habits to our daily life, according to our reality.
6- Slow-preneurship is “just” another Way of Working
Wrong.
For me, it’s a lifestyle.
In fact, all the habits I adopt in connection with how I manage my business are healthy habits that I recommend to EVERYONE, entrepreneur or not, mom or not.
